Critique Appertaining To Books عايزة أتجوز
I didn't think I would like this book. I was dubious about the translation at first, but when I read it I ended up truly enjoying it. Its a hilarious book with very sad moments that ring true for any girl in the Arab world. Totally worth reading!

It's really hilarious & I like how she is so straight forward and transparent, showing all the absurdities she has to face almost daily, and the hypocrisy in the society she has to deal with.I like the funny parts & the way she describes them in detail is hilarious, well she's a typical Egyptian girl, so she sure doesn't lack the Egyptian sarcasm. At the same time I feel for her to have dealt with such people, and feeling obliged to, or else she will be frowned at and marked with shame

A lightheared look at marriage customs in Egypt from the point of view of "Bride," the blogger who puts her experiences with ten suitors--all of whom are ridiculously flawed--out there. Some of the suitors are so strange, it's clear that the experiences are exaggerated, which is, of course, the whole point. There's a lot of truth in these tall tales, not the least of which is that it's not okay to settle for a guy just for the sake of getting married.

Got the point no need to read the whole book.. Funny though.. Shity series

Egyptian chick lit! I enjoyed the memories it brought back of Cairo. I could see how the humor would be funnier in Arabic--sometimes I could see the rhythms of Arabic shining through the translation. Unfortunately, the English version--it's hard to enjoy that humor much without that linguistic context. However, I did appreciate the little window into contemporary Egyptian woman's life...dealing with much of the same overt sexism that we Western women dealt with in the 1950's.

Got the point no need to read the whole book.. Funny though.. Shity series
