This is a review of my second reading of Out of the Flames. I originally gave it 5 stars when I read it 2 years ago, but dropped a star as It didn't quite hold up as well as I thought. MC Carl was kind of a whiner and pissed me off several times and the author kept using weird descriptions during the sex scenes like, "...relaxing his teeth, talking the male deeper." The male? (I counted. She did that 9 times.)MC firefighter Carl moves to Idaho from his native New York to start over after losingI enjoyed this 3.5* really. It needed to be longer. Some of the meaningful conversations didn't happen or weren't mentioned. The big decision was no surprise I'm glad it happened while they were away from each other and that they were settled before the big climax.

I loved this book. This author's books are not complicated stories, but they do leave you feeling great at the end! On to the next one. I would call this a naptime story. It is a quick read and leaves you feel good!
Rating 3.5 to 4Enjoyable read. I liked the firefighter details in the story. Jim and Carl made a good couple. I liked their instant attraction but appreciated even more the slower build of their relationship. I am glad Carl made his big decision before the somewhat predictable climax, it made his choice more real for me versus a result of a life or death situation.
E.M. Leya has done it again. Just when you thought her debut novel, Love plus One, was hot as hell - she now takes the reader on a journey to rural Idaho to meet TWO firefighters.Carl is leaving New York, his mother and his old job behind in an attempt to escape the memories of his lost love. Having been a firefighter all his life, it is no surprise that he finds himself applying at the local fire station again. But will his past find him again? Or will that cute colleague, Jim, be put off by
