Commentary In Pursuance Of Books A Highlander Christmas (Pine Creek Highlanders #7)
Camry MacKeage has absolutely no intention of telling her parents that she left her job as a NASA physicist for the small-town life of a dog-sitter—which is why she's spending the holidays alone in coastal Maine with her furry friends, Tigger and Max.Unfortunately, her irresistibly handsome rival, scientist Luke Pascal, accidentally spilled the beans. Now he's on a mission from her mother to tempt Camry home for the family's annual winter solstice celebration. But Luke is hiding his own secret, and he'll need a little bit of magic to earn Camry's trust...and a whole lot of mistletoe to seduce his way into her heart.

This is a light-hearted, feel-good, series, so it's appropriate that this final book culminates at Christmas-time. Well, actually it's centered around the winter solstice, with druidhs past and present working their magic. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that magic, which is why Camry is so conflicted, and why Luke thinks it's all hokum, since they both are physicists. I'm a big believer in serendipity, so when Grace refers to magic as 'serendipitous coincidence', I'm on-board.Not for meI normally enjoy Janet chapmen books, but this one didn't do it for me. Not up to the standard of her other books. Too over the top on everything and rambled too much. I soon lost interest and sadly didn't finish the book.
I know a lot of people have comfort reads, beloved books that they reread, knowing they are going to bring guaranteed satisfaction and that warm, fuzzy feeling of revisiting old friends. I dont do rereads (too many books, too little time), so Janet Chapmans books became my comfort reads guaranteed to be comfortable, satisfying, feel-good reads. I always knew what I would be getting, and now its over. *tear*. Where will I get my comfort from now?My only disappointment with this one is it wasnt

DNF at 25%. Boring.
I am going to say this straight out of the gate, so there are no surprises later: this is not a positive review, and I did not enjoy this book.In retrospect, there were a lot of warning signs that I probably wouldn't enjoy this book. The story employs one of my least favorite plot devices ever (nosy meddling mother sends supposed man of daughter's dreams to find her and bring her back to the bosom of her loved ones). The heroine shares her name with a Toyota. There's a weiner dog on the cover.
Great book
Loved this book just like I love the series! It was such fun and I enjoyed every second of Camry and Luke's adventures with Max and Tigger.
