Crossroads and the Himalayan Crystals is the first book in a portal fantasy series based around Celtic mythology. It's a fun, pretty quick read about 4 teenagers drawn into another world where they are key players in a centuries old struggle against an evil druid. This reads like a middle grade or early YA story, but I would recommend it for a higher level reader since the language can be pretty advanced.
