Rendition To Books How Joe the Bear and Sam the Mouse Got Together

This book is a wonderful story about two friends who like to do different things and are sad because they can't find something they both can do together, but they find something in common in the end. It can teach speech bubbles, how illustrations such as going over a page can make something seem bigger, how the size of a text can show how authors want their story to be read (big font for the bear and small font for the when the mouse was talking), and eclipses. I loved the story and it fits a K-1st grade level, but I could definitely use it throughout elementary grades to each one of those skills above.

Evaluation About Books How Joe the Bear and Sam the Mouse Got Together
The friendship of Joe the Bear and Sam the Mouse blossoms when they find something they both like to do.A favorite boo that I read numerous times as a kid.

Excellent for pair storytelling on theme of friendship

This was one of my favorite books to read to my kids. When I found it on Amazon now, 40 years later (for an astronomical price), I had to buy it for our grandchildren. My biggest thrill was reading it to the girls, using the deep Joe voice and high Sam voice, just like I did with our kids. It was like riding a bicycle...it all came back to me!

One of my favorite books as a child. The lesson in this book is that differences are what makes friendships so special.

Another childhood favorite of mine..that I read to my children too!

This is a good book to read children when school starts. It tells how you and another person can have different things each of you like and still be friends.

While reading this it sounded vaguely familiar like something from way way back. I thought it was a recent book so I figured my memory was off. I checked the published date and it was 1965 and I was 4 that year, so perhaps my memory was a correct one. I did in fact read it and loved it over 50 years ago, the year I learned to read ! 🐭 🐻 🐭 🐻 🐭 🐻
