Narration Conducive To Books The 12 Dancing Princesses

Sucie Stevenson (illustrator of the Henry and Mudge books) brings us the retold Grimm's tale of the princesses who mysteriously wear through their slippers every night.

Stevenson gives us a cast of adorable dogs as the characters. Luca, the gardener's assistant, is the one who finds a way to follow the princesses to the enchanted island where they spend their nights dancing and wins the heart of the youngest princess in the process.

It was all together a very fun read that ended up being reread over and over until it had to be returned to the library. It appeals to the girl who loves princesses, dancers, magic, and humor.

Fairytale Story!

Not even close to the original. There is no spell. The princesses dance of their own accord. It moves so far away from the original that I begin to wonder if this is a retelling or a whole new story. The pictures were cute.
