I wanted to like this more than I did. It had this meandering plot, most of which took place inside Emily's head (Emily's head is usually where I spend most of my time, but I digress) and this Emily seemed off the rails at times. Paranoid over thinker, she was. At times, the story skirted toward steaminess, but didn't quite get there (naked people in your face was a bit heavy-handed). Not sure what I wanted to happen, not sure how the camp backstory really fit in. Decent writing, for the mostLoved this book - mysterious, sexy, full summer on the page. So smoothly and elegantly written too.
I got an ARC of this book. Deb is a great, descriptive writer that enables you to capture the image of the characters. The women friendships and relationships make you think and feel like youre a part of it. This book would make a great independent movie.
I wanted to really like this book but never found any parts particularly interesting. Though technically well written it felt a little pretentious and hella boring.
