I read this like a month ago and completely forgot to rate it or review it which is a shame because it's a very moving love story. These two boys' connection to each other is complex and unconditional. I did love that once the decision to be together was made there was no backslide or waffling. Short read with some explicitness, but I highly recommend.2.5 StarsThis would've been better if the characters in the book didn't talk like they were stiff, British, butlers. Contractions are things that are used...especially by teenagers. I found myself contracting their speech in my head as I read it just make it flow better. Also, I know that a lot of people pronounce wheelbarrow as wheel barrel, but that doesn't change how it's spelled. I had to shake my head at that.
Dialogue was a bit stilted, unnatural but otherwise a very good story.

3.5 stars rounded up.I loved this story.
I really liked this story right up until the end - which I felt was a little bit unrealistic.Trent and Sheldon are best friends. Have been forever. Trent has an awful home life with an abusive father and a mother who stands by and lets it happen. He spends most of his time at Sheldon's house anyway. After a terrible accident occurs involving another boy, Trent is once again abused by his father in front of the sheriff and goes to jail - even though his mother bails him out. Trent goes to live
What I like most on any of E. M. Leya's stories is the fact that they are believeable. It could be anybody in your area, your neighbor, your friend or even a member of your own family. In Trusting Trent, we meet Trent and Sheldon. Two best friends forced to grow up faster than they should need to by a series of events. Along the way they decide to experiment and discover their own sexuality together.Overall, the story is a nice, fast paced read and I can only recommend it.
